Once you elect a representative, we typically don't hear from them until the next election or until there is some type of crisis. The reality is, they are making decisions for you all year long — decisions that impact your life, your kids, your parents, your neighbors, your spouse, your sisters and your brothers.
If the founders of our country wanted our government to be "for the people, by the people," why are our government officials not talking to us?
Why is it that large companies can talk to our government officials about policies whenever they have a concern, but you can't?
Ever wonder why your congressman earns less than $250K per year, and yet after a few years in office, they have millions in personal assets while the average person struggles? How did they capture such great personal wealth while working for the public's best interest?
The sad reality is, our government officials are being influenced by others that don't have the same interests as you. All of our representatives get funding to support their office and then must return favors.
Regardless if you are Republican, Democrat, or Independent — they are not listening to you. They are more interested in blaming someone else. This is why TV and social media are unwatchable today: the big blame game, full of scandals and corruption of people bought and paid for.
Their promises to fix problems are only made with the intent of gaining your vote so they can continue to line their pockets, while fixing nothing.
Every political party is an expert in division. They want to divide us into groups so they can serve us ads that serve their agenda. True representatives advocating for Americans would not care about term limits or regulations that limit their behavior to ensure the greater good is being served.
We are a grassroots team of citizens who are tired of the nonsense, the forced division, lack of facts, and hate for the other party. If our country is split 50/50, do you really hate 50% of the population?
We believe that we have more in common than we don't. We all want good jobs, safety, healthcare, and an education. We are all willing to work hard. No one wants a hand out.
Our path forward is through respect for one another, and love.
The intent for this site is for all Americans to be represented equally, on all issues that impact our lives. On this site, all votes are counted the same, by state, regardless of your demographics. No gerrymandering of lines around the state to influence the electoral college.
If enough of us participate by state, we can influence the decisions in our state and federal organizations that are supposed to represent us. They will listen to OurVoice — or be voted out of office.
Large companies can fund campaigns, but they can't buy your vote. You have the power to define the behavior you want to see. This site is intended to enable YOU.
Please join us and share your voice. We can disagree on many topics and yet still make a lot of progress if they hear OurVoice.
If there is an issue not listed on our site, please log in and submit it for consideration and publication nationwide. We want your ideas, we want your voice, we want to help enable all Americans regardless of your zip code, political affiliation, or demographic.
Once we start to gain participation, we will begin engaging all news outlets, social media, and local representatives with our results. This will become a flywheel and help us scale.
When our representatives vote on a bill (future feature), we will share their voting behavior with you so you know if they are listening to OurVoice. Should you vote to keep them in office — or vote them out?
When we get closer to an election cycle (future feature), we will begin sharing how your voice matches the voting behavior of the folks running for office. It should be really clear who to vote for. We just want you to be informed as to who is representing your views the best — based on their own actions.
We hope that you will join in and be part of OurVoice.
